The National Media Office (NMO) is the official government entity responsible for developing an integrated media system that serves the national interest and enhances the UAE’s media position. NMO’s core mandate is to provide strategic media coordination, communication planning, and international media engagement on behalf of the UAE, ensuring the country's message and image are conveyed effectively and credibly.

NMO leads strategic media planning, develops national communication campaigns, and coordinates media responses at the federal level. Additionally, the NMO leads the propositions and preparation of the UAE’s general media policies and oversees their implementation, in conjunction with unifying the national media speech domestically and internationally, preparing and evaluating media narratives, and protecting and enhancing the Country’s reputation via global media representation. The NMO is also responsible for developing strategic media plans, train and prepare national talents, organises the work agendas of official spokespersons, and conducts media research and studies.

The National Media Office is chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, who also serves as the Chairman of the UAE Media Council.
